Seeger Recliner

The Seeger Recliner is part of a suite of furniture that I designed and built for a Berkeley, California house designed by the prominent turn-of-the-century architect, Bernard Maybeck. This house, in the Arts and Crafts style, was built in 1911 for Charles Seeger, Pete’s dad. I decided to use aluminum details in the chair as a subtle means of enlivening the dark details of the Maybeck sitting room. Fiddleback maple, aluminum and leather
