Seeger Sofa

Seeger Sofa

The Seeger Sofa is part of the suite of furniture I designed and built for a house originally built in 1911 by architect Bernard Maybeck (see Seeger Recliner and links for more information). At the time, good lighting was often sacrificed for other aesthetic considerations–the redwood panels on the interior walls are beautiful but dark. The fiddleback maple and aluminum of the sofa help to lighten up the room and the upholstery helps to enliven it. Fiddleback maple, aluminum, and fabric upholstery
