The chair arrived and it is exquisite. More beautiful and more comfortable than I remembered. A perfect fit, magnificent wood and finish and quality. This will be in our family for generations.

The rocker is beautiful in every way: flawless craftsmanship, perfect fit, and focal point of our home. We have lots of beautiful art hanging in our home but no one looks at it any more. They just ask about the rocker! Thanks for the magnificent piece of art you have created for our family.

The cherry floating back rocker that you made for me arrived this morning. It is one of the most beautiful things I have seen. Please accept my congratulations and thanks for the craftsmanship that you and your associates have exercised to bring this thing of natural beauty and practicality into our home. I think we have looked at the postcard picture of your chair about three times every week since we ordered it. Now, we are delighted that, this time, reality proves as wonderful as the dream. The chair is beautiful, it is elegant, it is strong, and it is comfortable. We have just one problem: whether to sit in the rocker, or to sit in an ordinary chair and look at it!

Last year my wife bought me a Floating Back Rocker. I have had more than a year to sit and rock in it. God, it’s great. Our friends come over to sit in it. The landlord sits in it. I suspect the cat sits on it all day. I can’t tell you how pleased I am to have this chair. I wanted to finally write and tell you so.

The color and grain in the solid cherry is beautiful… my friends take turns sitting in the rocker running their fingers over the surface in disbelief at the finish and its lines. It’s a work of art and great therapy on my often-tired back.

I did not feel I could merely send off a check without telling you how much I love my chair. Nor could you imagine the difficulty with which I call it a chair, as so common a term can in no way do justice to your artistry. So often the anticipation of an acquisition creates expectations that are somehow never met. In this case, I could never have anticipated the extent to which you have exceeded my highest hopes and expectations. I cannot thank you enough.

All visitors to the house have admired the dining room chairs and, upon trying them out, have marveled about their comfort and construction. Thank you for giving us furniture that will bring us years of pleasure in its use.

The “chairs” in my dining room are absolutely a work of art. It gives me so much pleasure to look, touch, and feel them every day.

I realize it’s a singular aspect of your craft that allows you to bestow such a rare pleasure on your fortunate patrons. I consider myself lucky to be one. Thanks for your craftsmanship. I’m more than satisfied with the way you do the things you do. You really rock me off my feet.

When Mike Richter, the New York Rangers’ All-Star Goalie, had back problems a couple of years ago, he flew to Los Angeles to see a specialist. He also started spending more time in his handcrafted rocking chair, made by Robert Erickson. The chairs elegant form suits its function: the seat curves beneath one’s thighs, and the back slats gently press against the lumbar region as one rocks. How many objets d’art can provide a lower-back massage? …Perhaps the highest nexus of art and ergonomics is the Erickson chair.
